Antitrust Enforcement in Regulated Sectors

The activity of antitrust authorities is particularly important in the regulated sectors where exclusionary and collusive practices can be encountered. The working group described the limits and constraints facing antitrust authorities intervening in regulated sectors as well as the enforcement experience in regulated sectors, and examined the relations between antitrust authorities and sector regulators.


Telecommunications is a rapidly evolving sector, presenting many challenges for competition authorities from both developing and developed jurisdictions in their enforcement work and in their competition advocacy efforts before sector regulators.

Capacity Buidling/Competition Policy Implementation Working Group

The Working Group's work identifies key elements that contribute to successful capacity building and competition policy implementation in developing transition economies. The CB/CPI line of work is now subsumed in the Agency Effectiveness Working Group.
